About FLSmidthFLSmidth is a global leader in sustainable technology and services for the mining and cement industries.With over 140 years of innovation, we enable our customers to move towards zero emissions and zero waste operations.At FLSmidth, we believe in fostering a work culture rooted in safety, collaboration, integrity, and continuous development.Join us in driving progress through engineering excellence and a deep commitment to performance, people, and the planet.Role PurposeThe Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise, on-site services, and engineering support to FLSmidth customers across Brazil.This role ensures the proper installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of FLSmidth equipment, driving customer satisfaction and long-term equipment performance.You will act as a key technical liaison between customers and our engineering, product, and service teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform installation supervision, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and inspections of FLSmidth equipment at customer sites.Provide hands-on technical support for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Ensure work is carried out safely and complies with FLSmidth and customer safety standards.Support root cause analysis (RCA) and provide recommendations to optimize performance.Deliver clear and professional service reports and documentation, and provide feedback to internal teams.Train customer personnel on equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and best practices.Collaborate with the commercial and engineering teams to identify opportunities for service improvement and aftermarket solutions.Actively represent FLSmidth in customer interactions, building trust and long-term relationships.Maintain tools and equipment in proper functioning condition and adhere to field safety protocols.Travel to various mine sites within Brazil and occasionally to other South-American countries.Technical Skills And KnowledgeSolid knowledge of mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment such as HPGRs, crushers, sizers, ball/vert mills, thickners, filters, flotation cells, rotary kilns or related machines.Familiarity with hydraulic systems, instrumentation, and process.Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and service software.Knowledge of maintenance best practices and troubleshooting methodologies.Qualifications And ExperienceBachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, mechatronic engineering or a related field.Minimum five years of relevant experience in field service of the aforementioned equipment.Experience working in mine sites or heavy industrial environments.Strong communication and customer-service orientation.Proficiency in Portuguese (required); intermediate proficiency in English and/or Spanish (reading, writing, speaking).Availability to travel frequently (up to 90%) within Brazil and occasionally internationally.Valid driver's license.Behavioural TraitsHigh level of personal responsibility and safety awareness.Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Adaptable to dynamic environments and changing customer needs.Clear communicator capable of delivering technical information to non-technical audiences.What We OfferA role in a purpose-driven company contributing to a more sustainable mining industry.Professional development, training, and growth opportunities in a global organization.Exposure to cutting-edge technology.Competitive compensation, benefits, and a supportive work environment.As an equal-opportunity employer, FLSmidth embraces diversity and equality by promoting an inclusive environment.We encourage candidates from all backgrounds and perspectives to apply.In our commitment to equal opportunity and eliminating bias, we kindly ask that you exclude personal information such as age, ethnicity, number of children, and photographs from your application materials.FLSmidth requires all individuals to have the appropriate work visas.Otherwise, we will not be able to process your application.For more information, please visit FLSmidth.com/careers.#J-*****-Ljbffr
