PROCESS ENGINEERING MANAGER
Job Overview:
Responsible for Process Engineering activities at the Belford Roxo site.
This position is part of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and manages a team of 1-3 technical engineering professionals.
Responsible for key elements and activities of the site PSM program such as calorimetry studies, chemical reaction hazards assessment, pressure relief verifications, HAZOP, LOPA, MAH management, etc.
Responsible for process design activities in close collaboration with the site Project Engineering organization to effectively execute the capital plan for the site, including coordination with engineering design houses and contractors.
Coordinates kaizen activities focused on improving safety and efficiency of plant processes.
Supports product localization activities in collaboration with sales and product management teams.
Acts as the site focal point for new technology deployment in liaison with the global process technology team.
Provides plant support for safe and efficient daily operations, investigating root causes of abnormalities in manufacturing.
Responsible for team skills development and talent management.
Accountabilities:
Understand, adhere to, and promote Lubrizol's Code of Ethics & Compliance in all activities.
Support development of an integrated Process Safety Management (PSM) system, using risk analysis tools such as HAZOP, LOPA, CHAZOP, OBRA, FSS, etc., and manage MAH identification and documentation such as PFDs and P&IDs.
Lead the MOC process for the site.
Oversee plant process design activities and support capital projects.
Lead projects related to process improvement and new technology deployment.
Develop and implement emissions reduction plans.
Champion process mapping initiatives to identify safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency improvements.
Represent the site in regional and global technical forums and initiatives.
Support daily plant activities, including problem solving and root cause analysis of process deviations.
Deliver technical training to site teams.
Manage team skills development.
Education / Skills:
Chemical Engineering degree.
10-15 years of experience in process and/or project management in hazardous chemical plants.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
Advanced English language skills.
SAP knowledge (desired).
Proactivity, results focus, good teamwork, and communication skills.
