About Sound:Sound Physicians is headquartered in Tacoma, WA, a physician-founded and led, national, multi-specialty medical group made up of more than 1,000 business colleagues and 4,000 physicians, APPs, CRNAs, and nurses practicing in 400-plus hospitals across 45 states.Founded in 2001, and with specialties in emergency and hospital medicine, critical care, anesthesia, and telemedicine, Sound has a reputation for innovating and leading through an ever-changing healthcare landscape — with patients at the center of the universe.Sound Physicians offers a competitive benefits package inclusive of the items below, and more:Medical insurance, Dental insurance, and Vision insuranceHealth care and dependent care flexible spending account401(k) retirement savings plan with a company matchPaid time off (PTO) begins accruing immediately upon start date at a rate of 15 days per year, in accordance with Sound\'s PTO policyTen company-paid holidays per yearAbout the role:This is a key role in producing accurate financial statements for our hospital sites.It includes work aggregating information from across the organization (for example Revenue Cycle, Accounts Payable, and Payroll), reviewing inputs for relevance and accuracy and formulating questions that will lead to more accurate results.It requires not only wide accounting knowledge, but also deep knowledge of our site operations and financial model.A rounded accounting education base and polished interpersonal skills for interaction with all levels of an organization are key to success in this role.Additionally, this position will be the lead for the Operations Staff Accountants, providing training / onboarding, as well as back-up support for the Regional Accounting Manager position.The Details:In this role, you will be responsible for:Using standard processes complete the month-end close process for review by the Regional Accounting ManagerUsing a variety of data sources, determine the need for and prepare journal entries and draft and retain relevant supporting materialsPreparing account reconciliations monthly, researching and resolving variancesReviewing data for hospital invoices, obtaining follow up information and completing and distributing invoices and supporting documents for regional reviewRegularly monitoring of Accounts Receivable reports and reviewing and analyzing customer accounts including determining the need credit memos or any invoice adjustmentsConsistent application of process-level internal controlsAnalyzing, researching and understanding variances in monthly results compared to budget, preparing summary variance informationBack-up Support / coverage for Regional Accounting Manager dutiesProviding training / onboarding for Operational Staff AccountantsOther projects and duties as assignedWhat we are looking for:A successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of a combination of these values, knowledge, and experience:Values:Collaborative: Demonstrates the ability to work well with others to accomplish a goal and get the work done;
