Sap Tax Specialist

We are seeking an experienced SAP Lead – Tax (Brazil) to drive the tax workstream in an ERP transformation project.
This role will be responsible for assessing the effort required to upgrade from the current Oracle ERP to an existing SAP S/4HANA global template and will be responsible for confirming functional tax requirements are being addressed during the implementation phase.
This position requires a deep understanding of Brazilian tax regulations and expertise in SAP S/4HANA tax localization.
The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with Brazilian tax laws while maintaining alignment with global finance and tax processes.
Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written) is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities Analyze the current Oracle ERP tax setup and define the scope, effort, and impact of transitioning to an existing SAP S/4HANA global template.
Conduct a fit-gap analysis to compare Brazil's tax requirements with the global template, identifying localization needs.
Provide recommendations on tax process optimizations in SAP S/4HANA while ensuring compliance with Brazilian regulations.
Define the data migration strategy for tax-related master and transactional data.
Collaborate with global and local stakeholders to finalize the tax migration roadmap.
Serve as the Brazil Functional Tax Lead during the SAP S/4HANA implementation.
Lead the configuration and deployment of SAP tax settings, including SAP TDF (Tax Declaration Framework), SAP ACR (Advanced Compliance Reporting), and SAP Nota Fiscal.
Ensure compliance with applicable Brazilian fiscal regulations, including ICMS, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, withholding taxes, SPED reporting, and e-invoicing (Nota Fiscal Eletronica - NF-e).
Work closely with global teams to adapt the SAP S/4HANA global template while ensuring Brazilian localization requirements are met.
Oversee data migration, integration testing, and UAT for tax processes.
Act as the primary liaison between tax, finance, IT, and SAP functional teams to ensure smooth implementation.
Provide training and knowledge transfer to local tax and finance teams.
Support post-go-live stabilization and continuous process improvements.
Required Qualifications Fluent in English and Portuguese (spoken and written).
7+ years of experience in SAP tax configuration with a strong focus on Brazilian tax localization.
Proven experience leading tax workstreams in SAP S/4HANA global template implementations.
Hands-on expertise with SAP S/4HANA, including TDF, ACR, and Nota Fiscal solutions.
Experience conducting fit-gap analysis and defining localization requirements within a global template.
Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP tax modules and prior experience in Oracle-to-SAP migrations.
Deep understanding of Brazilian tax regulations, compliance reporting, and electronic invoicing.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and critical thinking skills.
Experience working in a global, multi-entity environment is preferred.
