**Why work for Brennan?**We are a national company with a reputation for delivering technical excellence, innovation and high-quality service to the mid-market and have backed up that statement by winning the #1 Managed Service Provider in Australia for the past 10 years in a row.**Brennan IT benefits include**:- A strong culture underpinned by values that are truly lived every day.- Salaries are pegged to the Australian dollar.- Flexible working is part of our DNA - We have adopted a hybrid working model and we encourage working from home and office as it seems ideal.- Proven career progression opportunities, we are passionate about helping our people unlock their potential and grow across different capabilities.- Diversity is a strength, and we love having people from diverse backgrounds and experiences, for example, we have employees from over 30 different countries - that is just one attribute, talk to us about our other diverse people**Full Job Description**We are seeking a Configuration Specialist to work in the scope of CMDB, CSDM Framework and ITOM Discovery to our ServiceNow platform team.As a Configuration Specialist, the responsibilities will include developing, maintaining, updating, and implementing configuration items (CI); control configuration baselines, and ensure the accuracy of configuration data and proper reporting.**Key Responsibilities**:- Monitor and maintain the health and accuracy of the CMDB by leveraging dashboards and troubleshooting identification, reconciliation, patterns, and mid-servers.- Understand ServiceNow configuration concepts and assist in documenting configuration management processes and procedures.- Establish new Configuration Management processes, policies, and procedures.- Lead and support the maintenance for the Discovery module within ServiceNow.- Recommend, design, plan, and implement automation to improve the configuration management database (CMDB) processes.- Responsible for configuration management (CfM) to include develop, maintain, update, and implement CIs.- Create, establish, and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting developmental and operational systems.- Support efficient and effective service management processes by providing accurate and timely configuration information that aids decision making (e.g., to authorize change and release and resolve incidents and problems faster).- Develops or modifies CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system.- Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life.- Establish procedures for auditing and verifying the accuracy of CIs, adhering to processes, and identifying process deficiencies.- Engage with strategic projects to ensure Configuration Management can deliver required CMDB functionality within project timeframes.- Review and approve all changes to the CMDB infrastructure where applicable.- Review and approve significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed.- Mentor the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies, and procedures.- Review and approve all requests for administrator log on credentials / access rights to the CMDB infrastructure.**Required Background and Skills**:- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, or related discipline required.- 1 - 2 years' experience supporting ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.- 1 - 3 years' experience designing, implementing, and maintaining a CMDB in ServiceNow.- Working knowledge of ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM).- Prior experience in asset and/or configuration management role.- System administration experience in Windows, Linux, Unix.- Basic Network knowledge of IP protocol, SSH, and SNMP.- Understanding of desktop, server, database, network infrastructure in cloud environments and on-premises data centres.
