About UsZurich Insurance Company is a leading provider of insurance products and services, committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional customer service.Our ZCAM (Zurich Customer Active Management) team turns customer data into practical business solutions to drive the implementation of our ambitious customer strategy.If you are a talented and experienced Full-Stack Developer, passionate about creating intuitive and engaging user interfaces and have a strong background in Angular and React, we would love to hear from you.So make a difference.Be challenged.Be inspired.Be supported, Love what you do.Work for us.The opportunity: DATA ENGINEER The Data Engineer will be responsible for leading and powering data-driven decisions and leveling-up the data and analytics tools of the Zurich organization.By leveraging new technology, the ZCAM data engineering team ensures that all stakeholders in the organization can efficiently access reliable and accurate data.Data engineers will develop, implement, and refine the standards, tools, and methodologies that make up the desired analysis environment within the organization.Their expertise will help create a strong data foundation within Zurich that keeps everyone informed and moving forward.Responsibilities Defining and implementing scalable and flexible data analytics architecture based on current and future business needs mainly utilizing Databricks platformBuild and optimize complex data pipelines, and ETL processes for processing large-scale datasetsIntegration, consolidation, cleansing and structuring of large data sets to enable business insights, reporting and ML/AI use casesDelivering business insights by consolidating various data sources to understand business performance (e.g. sales data, customer satisfaction data, digital analytics data)Sourcing, collecting and researching new internal and open-source external data setsDefining and implementing data governance processesPlan and prepare data engineering and analysis work between technical teamsEngage with business stakeholders to prepare and coordinate data sharing and data transfer activitiesSupport deployment, monitoring and maintenance of ML/AI models Requirements University degree in physics, math, computer science or a related fieldProfessional experience in related role and/or demonstrated competency (projects) utilizing relevant technologiesGood understanding of concepts and technologies underpinning modern data platforms (storage, compute, etc.) and how they fit into the bigger pictureExperience in cloud technologies, data modelling and designing/implementing scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelinesStrong programming skills in Python and SQLUnderstanding of ML/AI and MLOps challengesFamiliarity with Databricks is a plusUnderstanding and experience in solving data governance challenges utilizing modern technologyExcellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical issues, solutions and results to a non-technical audienceStrong proficiency in both English and Portuguese is required, Spanish language skills are a plus
