Senior Devops Engineer

We are looking for a full-time, remote Senior Dev Ops Engineer with 6+ years of Dev Ops and AWS experience to work with other team members on maintaining and executing organizational policies and procedures for change management, configuration management, release and deployment management, service monitoring, support, and problem management of the client's solutions for internal and customer environments.Our industry-leading client provides cloud-based business automation software for over 2,000 independent upstream and midstream oil & gas companies in North America. The company's solutions manage land, production, accounting, and transportation for E& P operators, crude oil purchasers, transporters, haulers, investors, and accounting firms. Their customers benefit from the automation of the most complex business processes, which reduces operating costs, saves time, and increases profitability through reporting, analytics, and decision support systems that were once exclusive to major integrated oil companies.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with stakeholders to understand their infrastructure requirements, design solutions with cost mitigation in mind that meet their needs, and implement transparently and efficientlyManage and optimize AWS environments using Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) best practices via tools such as TerraformOwn the design, development, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines - ensure rapid yet reliable code deploymentsIntegrate security practices into the infrastructure development lifecycle, including network security, identity management, and data protectionEnsure the achievement of SLOs via the implementation of effective SLIs to monitor systems and aid in issue diagnosisExpand documentation and provide training to ensure clarity and proficient management by others, reducing future onboarding timeMonitor and optimize cloud spendingStay up-to-date with the latest cloud computing and Dev Ops trends and best practicesRequired ExperienceExcellent English communication skills6+ years of experience in architecting, deploying, and managing complex enterprise-grade software solutions using AWS across various delivery modalities - mobile applications, web applications, APIs, web services, and UI frameworksExtensive experience with CI/CD pipeline optimization via Ia C platforms, must be highly knowledgeable of TerraformSolid experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), version control systems (Git), and scripting languages (Python, Bash, and more)Proven site reliability experience achieving SLOs through the definition and implementation of effective SLIsExperience with operational database management in AWS (Aurora My SQL/Postgre SQL)Deep understanding of modern security best practices and a proven track record of implementing secure solutionsOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bridge gaps between technical and non-technical stakeholdersA strong aptitude for tackling complex challenges with right-size solutions that mitigate costs while assuring exceptional end-user experiencesDemonstrated ability to thrive in environments that are constantly evolving and occasionally ambiguousDesired Experience (not required)University degree in Business, MIS, or EngineeringFamiliar with New Relic, Loggly, and Cloud WatchSkilled in shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, and Power Shell)Additional InformationKnowing your ideas are heard and matter, think bigYou get to own your job and be recognized for your contributionsWork with innovative and creative peopleMaking mistakes is human.
