The OpportunityWe are hiring a STAFF BACKEND SOFTWARE ENGINEER to our INTEGRATIONS team in BRAZIL
This is a Remote – Brazil position, meaning you can work from anywhere within the country.
Please note that this role is only open to candidates in Brazil.As a Staff Engineer, you will architect and build the integration layer for Wellhub and gym management systems globally.
You will collaborate with the team\'s Tech Lead and Product Manager to assess task feasibility, plan user story assignments, and prioritize technical work and debt.
You will apply a sharp strategic mindset by questioning stakeholders on feature scope and timing, balancing delivery complexity against opportunity cost, and fostering a culture of innovation on your team.Your ImpactContribute in the development of some of the most critical and challenging services in our ecosystem, seeking to build long-term and sustainable solutionsDesign, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilienceDevelop, often in pair programming, parts of the system (expected around 50%)Account for systems reliability, scalability, SLA and SLOSupport existing systems looking to enhance functionality, increase scale, and transform in new ways to meet our product demandsWork in a collaborative and agile environment that prioritizes people over process and is laser-focused on productivityTake part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in productionMaintain the project technical vision up to date and complete for everyoneWork with cutting-edge technologies and edge cases on a global scaleLive the mission: inspire and empower others by genuinely caring for your own wellbeing and your colleagues.
Bring wellbeing to the forefront of work, and create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable taking care of themselves, taking time off, and finding work-life wellness.Who You AreExperienced in architecting large-scale multi-tier web applicationsExperienced in designing and developing complex modern web applications and with Cloud-based architectures (AWS / GCP)Experienced in developing RESTful web services collaborating with front-end teams to create mocks, define payloads and follow the HTTP best practicesExperienced in applying computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysisExperience dealing with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, KAFKA, ActiveMQ, etc and an in depth understanding of their use cases and pitfallsVersed in concepts such as DDD, SOLID, Design Patterns distributed systems and architecture.
Capable of understanding pitfalls and anticipating common failure modes of a microserviceExperienced in working with SQL/NoSQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB understanding common use cases and performance pitfallsYou're expected to perform management tasks such as mentoring, facilitating and conducting regular one-on-ones with the members of your team, making sure that they are constantly challenged, engaged, and improving their skillsProficient in one or more programming languages (Java/Ruby/Go/C++/etc.).
Kotlin will be considered a plusCommunication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams located in several countries with different culturesYou need to be able to articulate ideas clearly when speaking to groups in EnglishThe following would be considered a plus:Experience with Firebase ecosystem (Custom events, remote configs, Crashlytics)Experience with other component-driven libraries/frameworks and Hybrid Native approachExperience with Design System and common UX patternsExperience with Typescript/ReactJS/React Native ecosystemWe recognize that individuals approach job applications differently.
