OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team.This is an excellent opportunity for a talented developer who wants to work on complex, high-impact projects.DescriptionThis role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems using Golang.You will be working with a modern, container-based, microservices environment built primarily in Golang, using Kafka, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL at scale.Design and develop high-performance Golang-based microservices that power our billing systems.Develop and integrate RESTful APIs that interface with external financial and operational systems.Work with event-driven systems and streaming architectures using Kafka.Manage containerized deployments using Kubernetes and Docker.Collaborate with internal stakeholders across teams to deliver new features and maintain operational excellence.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across distributed systems.Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning sessions.Contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability, scalability, and security.You'll be part of a collaborative team and have the opportunity to work on complex projects.RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should have:5+ years of professional backend development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Golang (or proven ability to quickly ramp up).Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend microservices.Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration and deployment.Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka or similar).Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Bonus SkillsThe following skills are a plus:Experience integrating with ERP systems such as Oracle, Workday, Anaplan, or NetSuite.Familiarity with API standards and tools (Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth, JWT).Exposure to Temporal or similar orchestration tools.Knowledge of distributed systems, security best practices, and observability.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.Talent RequirementsWe value candidates who possess a passion for building reliable, scalable, and user-centric systems at global scale.EEO StatementAvenue Code ensures the privacy of all candidates in compliance with regulations such as GDPR, LGPD, CCPA, and CPRA.
