Senior CMDB & Automation Engineer (Contractor – PJ) Location: Brazil (Remote) Engagement Type: Short-term project (flexible dedication) About the Opportunity Our client is looking for a Senior CMDB & Automation Engineer to lead a high-impact project focused on the strategic redesign and implementation of a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the Jira Service Management (JSM) ecosystem.This project requires a hands-on technical consultant capable of architecting the future state of the configuration management practice, enhancing operational stability, and reinforcing the organization's security posture.The consultant will deliver a sustainable, automated, and high-integrity CMDB that provides real-time, accurate data visibility.Scope of Work This engagement follows a structured, deliverable-based approach divided into key project phases: Phase 1: CMDB Audit & Maturity Assessment Conduct a comprehensive diagnostic of the existing JSM Assets environment to establish a baseline.Identify data quality issues, architectural limitations, and process gaps.Engage with key stakeholders (application owners, infrastructure, and security teams) to define essential CMDB use cases.Phase 2: Future-State Architecture & Governance Design Architect a scalable, service-centric CMDB model and taxonomy within JSM Assets.Design and document a Governance Framework defining data ownership, roles, responsibilities, and change control processes.Define a data federation strategy to distinguish mastered versus federated data sources.Phase 3: Implementation & Integration Execute the approved CMDB architecture within JSM, including schema and automation rule configuration.Engineer and implement automated, bi-directional integrations between the CMDB and key systems (e.g., Okta, Kandji, Intune) using the enterprise iPaaS.Review and migrate existing Okta Workflows into the iPaaS for improved governance and scalability.Phase 4: Enablement & Handover Develop comprehensive documentation for integrations, data models, and governance processes.Build Jira dashboards to provide visibility into CMDB health and accuracy.Ensure the designed solution is fully documented and ready for transition to the client's internal IT team.Qualifications Required Experience Minimum 8+ years in IT Infrastructure or related fields, with at least 4 years focused on CMDB architecture, design, and governance.Advanced, hands-on expertise with Jira Service Management (Assets) , including schema architecture, imports, and complex IQL configuration.Proven experience leading end-to-end CMDB implementation or redesign projects as the primary technical architect.Solid understanding of ITIL principles, particularly Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM).Demonstrated experience integrating external data sources into CMDB via REST APIs and iPaaS platforms.Preferred Experience Prior experience with other ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).Scripting skills (Python, Groovy, or similar).Professional certifications such as Atlassian ACP-JSM or ITIL v4.Background in fast-paced, cloud-native, or cybersecurity environments.Why This Project?This is a high-visibility consulting engagement where your work will directly influence the client's operational maturity and IT best practices.The consultant will have autonomy and ownership to design and deliver a foundational data architecture that enhances scalability, security, and reliability across the organization.
