**We are looking for**
- A Latin America Logistics Buyer to be in charge of the development, management, review, and implementation of the Overseas and Inland logistics procurement strategies relating to LAM export sea flows (FCL / LCL), ISO tank - Rental, Bulk shipping (Vessel chartering), Freight Forwarding, Air Freight, Warehousing, Bulk terminal storage, and Surveyors
**We count on you to**
- Manage the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting of Logistic Supplier Performance (LSP) in order to meet the regional and global LAM requirements
- Working with Solvay GBUs and LSPs, managing Logistics Projects, and providing Logistics expert support to CAPEX projects when required
- As a member of the Americas Logistics Procurement Team, to be responsible for, and lead negotiations with Shipping Lines for FCL trade flows in and out of the Americas region
- Manage costs in a volatile Maritime market through the development of competitive cost suppliers and the consolidation of the incumbent supplier base
- Responsible for the proactive communication to Solvay GBUs of current and upcoming logistics market changes
- Enforce, monitor, and evaluate purchasing strategies in relation to stakeholders, internal customers, and suppliers
- Work closely with Solvay GBUs / Supply Chains to monitor and analyze logistics data in order to ensure volume trends are, and performance is, in line with agreed expectations
- Be responsible for the management of the LSP base (number of suppliers, commercial and performance evaluation, QSE, among others) and for ensuring the successful implementation of Logistics Procurement processes
- Be responsible for Risk Management (Financial risk, HSE risks, among others.) of selected LSPs in order to ensure on-time and safe delivery to Solvay end Customers as well as the security of Sovay products/shipments during transport
- Ensure that Solvay's LSP base and logistics performance meet changing environmental, regulatory, and technological changes
- Work closely with Solvay GBUs to set and agree on clear requirements and expectations relating to the Logistics Procurement Team and LSP's performance

- The LAM Logistics Buyer role provides the opportunity to work at both regional and global levels for a leading Global Chemical Producer
- This position will enable the incumbent to manage relationships across a wide-ranging internal customer base and with global and regional external logistics service providers in challenging and ever-changing markets.
In addition, the Logistics Buyer will gain extensive experience working with other cross-organizational teams such as Finance and Legal
- Existing influencing, analytical, negotiation, relationship management, maintenance and development, Project management and implementation, global and regional tender management, and implementing skills will be improved whilst new skills are developed
- Success in this role will open the door to other employment opportunities in Solvay
**You will bring**
Education and experience
- College degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management position in Logistics, Sales, or Procurement in the LAM region
- Experienced with Category Strategy development, implementation, and management
Technical skills
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory.
Any other language is a plus
- Negotiation
- RFx management (Preparation / Launch / Analysis / Reporting)
- Excellent communication and presentation.
- Strong relationship management (external and internal stakeholders)
