We're proud of our 'QUBE SAFE' initiative and provide extensive on-the-job training to ensure you get home safely at the end of every day.Qube is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage women and Indigenous peoples of all ages to apply.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESPerform inspections as directed by the supervisor on all mobile equipment, buildings/structures and installationsProvide failure reports as required/requestedLiaise with welding inspectors and design engineers to carry out weld procedures as per engineers drawings and welding inspectors requirementCarry out fabrication and repairs as directed by the supervisor on all mobile plant & equipmentUndertake welding and fabrication repairs as per manufacturers recommendationsProvide technical engineering advise to reduce systemic failures and repetitive repairsReport any equipment breakdowns and damage immediatelyTake all steps to ensure fire risks from engineering activities are managed appropriately.
E.g. fire watch, cleaning machinery prior to undertaking hot works, using protective leather welding blankets, fire blankets, extinguishers and water pumps are on hand to quickly extinguish any flames or hot slagEnsure all machinery and equipment is isolated electronically before undertaking welding repairsEnsure appropriate hot work permits are obtained before starting any hot works outside of dedicated hot works areas.Ensure all completed documentation is submitted to the supervisor for record keepingAssist in identifying and implementing maintenance opportunities for improvementLiaise with supervision to ensure vehicle inspections and major repairs are planned and scheduledUndertake any task as directed by the supervisor or manager within the scope of the tradeTravel to other operations in AUS and undertake repairs as requestedAttend additional training courses as necessary to obtain any specific weld procedure or verification of competencyParticipate in any meetings- including any prestart, maintenance meetings and SHS meetings and any other meetingsKEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLSPhysically fit & strong enough to undertake engineering dutiesSelf-starter, reliable and a positive attitudeGood written and verbal skillsCurrent drivers licence and own vehicleStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of peopleAbility to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolutionAbility to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environmentAbility to work well within a small team environmentWhy QUBE?
