Job Title: Senior Backend DeveloperWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our team.
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data-driven web applications and visualizations.You will work closely with cross-functional partners across Product Management, Data Engineering, and Platform Engineering to build next-generation products.
You will also mentor members of the development team on internal and external frameworks, software development best practices, and new technologies.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (6+ years) as a backend developer specializing in Python.
Strong knowledge of Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, and Pyramid, and proficiency in object-oriented programming is required.
Good database experience, especially using PostgreSQL, is also necessary.Solid understanding of API design and development with experience integrating with third-party APIs is essential.
Experience leading backend development initiatives and quickly onboarding to large projects is also desired.
Heavy experience with building APIs and common API design paradigms is a must.
Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology large language models using OpenAI and Langchain.
You will also collaborate with product design, information security, and business team members to drive innovation and experimentation.The role requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
A Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent experience is required.Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain data-driven web applications and visualizations.Mentor members of the development team on internal and external frameworks, software development best practices, and new technologies.Gather requirements and plan actionable tasks for the team.Collaborate with product design, information security, and business team members.Rapidly test, iterate, and measure features and growth opportunities.Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.Requirements:Extensive experience (6+ years) as a backend developer specializing in Python.Strong knowledge of Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, and Pyramid, and proficiency in object-oriented programming.Good database experience, especially using PostgreSQL.Solid understanding of API design and development with experience integrating with third-party APIs.Experience leading backend development initiatives.Experience quickly onboarding to large projects.Heavy experience with building APIs and common API design paradigms.Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent experience.
