Job Position:A Software Engineer position is available in a distributed system environment.The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java, Node.js and Apache Kafka.About the Job:This role involves designing, implementing and maintaining backend services using Java and Node.js.Building and optimizing message-driven architectures and data pipelines using Apache Kafka is also key responsibility of this position.Duties:Design, implement and maintain distributed backend servicesBuild and optimize message-driven architectures and data pipelinesDevelop scalable, resilient APIs and backend servicesWrite clean, maintainable and well-tested codeDeploy, monitor and support applications running on Kubernetes across cloud environmentsWork closely with architects and product teams to design system components and integrationsParticipate in code reviews, system design discussions and operational readiness effortsTroubleshoot production issues across services and infrastructurePrototype new technologies to reduce cost and increase engineering velocityQualifications:A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or a related fieldStrong Java experience in backend or distributed systems environmentsHands-on experience with Kafka producers, consumers, partitions, topics, offsets and stream processingProficiency in Node.js for backend application developmentExperience deploying and maintaining services running in KubernetesFamiliarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CDHands-on experience with AWS and GCP cloud platformsSolid understanding of software design patterns, system architecture and microservices principlesExperience working with MongoDB and PostgreSQL schema design, performance considerations and migrationsStrong debugging and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skillsAbility to work within a distributed team
