Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our team.The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable code across backend and full-stack systems.The successful candidate will have a strong background in Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, OpenAPI, and RESTful architectures.They will also be proficient in object-oriented programming, MVC, and ORM frameworks.Additionally, they will have experience deploying and maintaining apps on Heroku or equivalent cloud platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code across backend and full-stack systemsBuild and maintain robust APIs (GraphQL/OpenAPI) to support mobile and web applicationsExplore and integrate AI tools (e.g., LLMs, vector search, embeddings) to accelerate product features and development workflowCollaborate on architecture decisions, scaling infrastructure, and ensuring security best practicesIdentify and eliminate performance bottlenecks, bugs, and inefficienciesContribute to mobile development support for native iOS and AndroidPartner with front-end and product teams to ship clean, AI-augmented features users loveQualifications5+ years of experience in backend API development using Ruby on RailsStrong experience in full stack development (bonus: Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Ember.js, React, Angular)Proficiency with GraphQL, OpenAPI, and RESTful architecturesAdvanced knowledge of Ruby 3, Rails 7, and PostgreSQL/MySQLExperience deploying and maintaining apps on Heroku (or AWS/GCP equivalents)Solid grasp of object-oriented programming, MVC, and ORM frameworksFamiliarity with AI APIs or tools (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain, Hugging Face) or a strong interest in learningBenefitsA competitive salary range of R$120,000 - R$250,000 per yearAn opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers, designers, and product leadersA fast-paced startup environment with opportunities for growth and professional developmentAbout UsWe are a dynamic startup based in Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil.We are passionate about delivering innovative solutions that make a real impact on people's lives.
