Note: This role will be opening again in the next two quarters, and we'd love to hear if you'd be interested in joining our talent pool.What You'll DoYou will be editing UGC-style videos in a variety of content formatsDevelop and execute thumb-stopping social media video edits, layer audio seamlessly and overlay text that drives key brand messagingBrainstorm inventive edits and hooks that drive engagement, leverage new formatsStay current on all social media platforms, ad offerings, content publishers, tools, trends, and best practicesBe a creative collaborator: have the ability to be the voice of the brand and the influencer to create content that is authentic and powerful for all channelsBe comfortable using video editing software, editing audio, and taking editing direction, while working in a fast paced environmentProvide accessible content that includes closed captioning, voiceover, and overlay text in a variety of aspect ratiosSetting up projects for edit staffIngesting and logging footageWorking in tandem with edit staff to meet deadlinesEditing lower-level projectsMaintaining media storage (hard drives, servers, GDrive)Mastering deliverables and archiving projectsAssisting senior staff with edit and administrative needsVersioning various aspect ratios of completed editsMaintaining all software and assets (Mac OSX, server operating system, frame.io, Vimeo, shared assets)Coordinating and troubleshooting edit equipmentReporting to the Post-Production Supervisor and Producers, the AE will upon request create high-quality video edits that will span various media platformsPerformance creative editing (collaborating with the performance marketing team in reviewing ad analytics/performance)What You'll Bring / QualificationsExperience creating platform native content (including video content and organic content), especially IG Reels, Meta ads, and TikTok viral video campaignsExceptional time management and organization skills with the ability to manage deliverables across an array of brandsStrong Motion Graphics/ Graphic Design/ Typography skillsProficient in Adobe Premiere Pro + FCPXWorking knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Media Encoder, After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop)Familiarity with broadcast finishing workflows (mix, color, VFX, conform, online)Familiarity working in a networked server environmentStrong technical knowledge of codecs and transcoding practicesStrong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skillsProficient with animation/ graphic designWhat It's Like To Work At DarkroomUnlimited Vacation Policy and Holidays: flexible vacation policy and 10 holidays per yearRemote-first culture with hubs in the Bay Area, New York, Philly, Lisbon, Sao Paulo, and BarcelonaEquity incentives and a profit-sharing opportunityOpportunities for growth through cross-functional collaborationParental Leave: flexible parental leave benefits to support new parentsEqual Opportunity StatementDarkroom is an equal opportunity workplace—we are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national orientation, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status.
