Artificial Intelligence is our reality.We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Developer with direct experience developing within the PostgreSQL database environment.
This is not a traditional backend role—our client is building logic directly inside the database, so we need someone who is comfortable treating PostgreSQL as a development platform, not just a data store.The ideal candidate will have deep experience with PL/pgSQL, PL/v8, database-side logic such as triggers, functions, cron jobs, and data policies, and will have worked on schema evolution using tools like Liquibase or Sqitch.
Familiarity with PostGIS is a plus but not required.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain complex stored procedures, triggers, and functions using PL/pgSQL and PL/v8Implement and manage PgCron jobs and other scheduled operations within the databaseDesign and evolve PostgreSQL schemas following established patterns and performance best practicesBuild database-side logic to support session management, auditing, changelog generation, and security policiesCollaborate with engineering teams to write automated tests for database logicAssist in maintaining schema version control with tools such as Liquibase or SqitchContribute to documentation and ramp-up guides to support consistent design practicesQualifications3–5+ years hands-on experience developing directly in PostgreSQLProficiency in PL/pgSQL, and experience with PL/v8 or willingness to learn quicklyStrong understanding of triggers, trigger functions, views, policies, and session-level logicExperience writing tests for database logicFamiliarity with PgCron or similar PostgreSQL-native job schedulersHands-on experience with schema migrations and tools like Liquibase or SqitchComfort working with complex, custom database architecturesFluent English skills (multicultural team and American client)Experience with PostGIS or other geospatial extensions is a plusKnowledge of Python scripting for auxiliary tooling or automationExposure to Azure database hosting environmentsAbility to ramp up quickly on unique architecturesComfortable starting with targeted tasks (e.g., writing tests, building tables) while learning broader system patternsProactive communicator who can collaborate with distributed teamsBenefitsHealth and dental insuranceMeal and food allowanceExtended paternity leavePartnership with gyms and health and wellness professionals via Wellhub (Gympass) TotalPassProfit Sharing and Results Participation (PLR)Life insuranceContinuous learning platform (CI&T University)Discount clubFree online platform dedicated to physical, mental, and overall well-beingPregnancy and responsible parenting coursePartnerships with online learning platformsInclusion and accommodationsAt CI&T, inclusion starts at the first contact.
