Our VisionAt ANEW Hotels & Resorts, we believe in creating exceptional experiences for our guests through attention to detail and proactive care of our properties.As a Handyman, you play a crucial role in ensuring our guests enjoy a comfortable, well-maintained environment while supporting our team members in delivering excellence.Position OverviewThe Handyman is responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of all hotel facilities, ensuring both guest areas and back-of-house spaces meet ANEW's high standards.This role combines technical expertise with guest service excellence, contributing directly to our guests' comfort and satisfaction.The successful candidate will be based at KwaZulu-Natal, Zinkwazi.Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & ServiceEngage warmly with guests, demonstrating ANEW's welcoming cultureRespond promptly to maintenance requests through InfraspeakMaintain guest room readiness by completing preventative maintenance checksEnsure minimal disruption to guest experience when conducting repairsProactively identify and address potential maintenance issues before they impact guest satisfactionTechnical MaintenanceMonitor and manage daily tasks through Infraspeak, prioritizing based on guest impact and urgencyPerform preventative maintenance on all hotel systems including:Electrical systems (lighting, TV sets, refrigeration)Plumbing (water systems, fixtures, drainage)HVAC systemsFurniture and fixturesSwimming pools and spa facilitiesExecute painting and general repairs throughout the propertyMaintain landscaping and grounds in collaboration with service providersMonitor and report on contractor work quality and compliance with service level agreementsSafety & ComplianceMaintain a safe working environment following health and safety protocolsEnsure proper storage and handling of tools, materials, and chemicalsConduct regular safety checks on equipment and facilitiesMonitor water quality and pressure systems (including Legionella prevention)Implement energy-saving practices across the propertyResource ManagementMaintain optimal inventory levels of maintenance supplies and toolsProcess maintenance requests through Infraspeak efficientlySubmit and track purchase requests for required materialsEnsure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipmentPractice cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standardsRequired Skills & AttributesStrong technical skills in general maintenance and repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentryExperience with building maintenance and repairExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilitiesStrong communication skillsCommitment to guest service excellenceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPainting skillsHealth and safety complianceTool and equipment handlingBasic HVAC system knowledgePhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsCapable of lifting up to 25kg when necessaryManual dexterity for operating tools and equipmentAbility to work in various weather conditionsOur Commitment to YouAs part of the ANEW family, you'll receive:Comprehensive training and development opportunitiesA supportive team environmentRecognition for excellenceGrowth opportunities within ANEW Hotels & ResortsA competitive benefits package#J-*****-Ljbffr
