Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Backend Systems Engineer to join our team.This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable backend systems and APIs.The successful candidate will lead and own DevOps initiatives, including CI/CD pipeline management, cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration.They will also implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring secure, reproducible, and automated deployments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop highly available and scalable backend systems and APIs.Lead and manage DevOps initiatives, including CI/CD pipeline management, cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration.Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring secure, reproducible, and automated deployments.Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improve existing systems.Ensure disaster recovery readiness and compliance with security best practices.Required Skills and Qualifications8+ years of professional experience in functional programming, with Node.js / JavaScript.Proven experience with DevOps practices and cloud-native environments.Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker.Expertise with AWS (S3, RDS, EventBridge, SQS, DMS, Security Groups, IAM, VPCs, ECR).Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, RDS).Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.Familiarity with Terraform (infrastructure as code).Solid understanding of application security and use of security tools.Strong debugging, issue resolution, and troubleshooting skills.Nice to Have SkillsExperience with automated database migrations and versioning.Background in API integration and distribution systems.Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
