OverviewWe are seeking a MySQL Database Engineer for Percona.This is a 100% remote, Americas-time-zone role with senior teammates to mentor you.It's a mid-level position designed for growth, not an entry-level triage or call-center role.ResponsibilitiesHands-on knowledge of both MySQL and InnoDBFamiliarity with the MySQL ecosystem of tools and technologiesPerformance tuning, query optimization, and index tuningExperience with backup solutions (Xtrabackup, mydumper) and Point-in-Time RecoveryExperience with High Availability (replication, routers, proxies)Exposure to zero-downtime proceduresUnderstanding of monitoring requirementsAdministrating Linux-based systemsMethodical troubleshooting with the ability to apply fixes and think creatively for complex issuesSelf-motivated and eager to learn new technologies as the industry evolvesAvailability to travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences, or customer visitsExperience working with customers in EnglishPreferred qualificationsExperience in SLA-bound operationsOpen Source community contributions (e.g., a blog)Proficiency with screen-sharing/phone collaborationKnowledge of any of the following technologies:Galera / XtraDB Cluster / ProxySQL / OrchestratorCloud services (AWS and RDS, Azure, GCP)Percona Monitoring & Management (PMM) and other monitoring toolsConfiguration management (Ansible, Puppet or Chef)Percona ToolkitMySQL DBA, professional certificationsMongoDBPostgreSQLMyRocksKubernetes / OpenShift / DockerAdvanced Linux troubleshooting tools (gdb, perf, strace, bpftrace, tcpdump, etc)LocationRemote, work from home position anywhere in the Americas.5-day work week (including weekend).On-call participation with the team.Occasional travel to company events, conferences, etc.Why PerconaPercona believes an open world is a better world.Our mission is to enable everyone to innovate by providing the best open source database software, support, and services.Our technical teams are experts in MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.Percona is remote-first with colleagues in more than 50 countries, offering a collaborative culture where ideas are welcome and voices are heard.BenefitsGenerous benefits including flexible work hours, various paid time off programs, equipment for your remote office, funds for career development (external training, certifications, conferences), connectivity allowances, and participation in our equity incentive plan.We also support work–life balance initiatives and volunteering programs.If you love the idea of joining a high-growth tech company known globally as a leader in the open-source database space, let's talkConnect with us on LinkedIn and Twitter to stay updated on news and developments.#J-*****-Ljbffr
