Distinguished Server Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Engineer to maintain and enhance real-time data systems for a leading investment bank.You will handle alert and incident management, problem resolution, and system improvements, ensuring uptime and performance for global trading and data services.Main Responsibilities:Resolve data quality issues by analyzing root causes and managing internal and external vendors.Support on-call, incident management, problem, and change management processes.Ensure optimal accuracy and timeliness of data in real-time while implementing monitoring tools to detect data issues.Collaborate with regional and global Market Data Infrastructure teams to share knowledge and experience.L2 Alert Management: Manage alerts requiring knowledge for resolutions, creating and/or updating resolutions into knowledge bases.Incident Management: Manage the lifecycle of incidents from identification to resolution, minimizing business impact.Change Management: Manage production changes, including mandatory updates and software upgrades.Other responsibilities include Release Management, Event Management, User Support, and Reporting.Requirements:Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or production support roles.Highly skilled in Linux System Administration.Experience in Windows operating systems.Scripting proficiency (Bash and/or Python preferred).Networking and connectivity skills (e.g., multicast, routing, switches, TCP/IP).Excellent communication and written English skills.Understanding of ITIL Foundation and best practices.Prior experience in banking, investment, or other financial IT environments is beneficial.Nice-to-have skills include experience with ITRS Geneos, EXEGY (Wombat/Vela), or Market Data platforms.Benefits:A modern, dynamic environment within a top global institution.Fully remote or hybrid options.Continuous learning and certification opportunities.Competitive salary and benefits package.Long-term career prospects with international exposure.Inclusive, multicultural team with regular knowledge-sharing and team events.
