Senior Backend Engineer (PHP/Laravel)Location: Brazil (Remote)Our trusted high-growth healthcare technology partner is seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer (PHP/Laravel) to join their dynamic team. This innovative company is dedicated to revolutionizing the healthcare industry through cutting-edge technology solutions.Position Overview:As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of scalable and robust software solutions to support the company's mission and goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain innovative applications and platforms that drive business success and improve patient outcomes.Primary Responsibilities:1. Platform Development: Spearhead the development and optimization ofour EHR platform using PHP/Laravel, ensuring high performance,reliability, and scalability.2. Database Development: Creating database schemas that represent andsupport business processes3. API Development and Integration: Develop and maintain APIs for internaland external use, facilitating seamless integration with other healthcaresystems and third-party services.4. Security Compliance: Ensure the platform's compliance with healthcareindustry standards, including HIPAA, by implementing and maintainingrobust security measures and data protection protocols.Additional Responsibilities:1. Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on best practices inbackend development, code review, and team collaboration.2. Stay abreast of new technology trends and evaluate their application tocontinually innovate and enhance the platform.3. Participate in the agile development process, contributing to sprintplanning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring timely delivery ofhigh-quality software.4. Collaborate with the design team to refine the platform's user interfaceand experience, implementing responsive and intuitive front-endfunctionalities using modern JavaScript frameworks.Competencies/Requirements:1. Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in PHP/Laravel and MySQL.Familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git.2. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in backend development, with aproven track record of developing and maintaining scalable webapplications. Experience in the healthcare sector or EHR platforms ishighly desirable.3. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle complex problems, thinkanalytically, and develop innovative solutions.4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills,capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams andstakeholders.5.
