Position Summary:

The Junior Project Professional is a position that will work closely with Brazil country management and will support project teams in planning, implementing, and monitoring REDD+ projects, working closely with the Brazil team and stakeholders. He/she coordinates smooth communication between the different groups and learns best management practices. The position requires a passionate individual with excellent communication and coordination skills, who can work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to support our REDD+ projects.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Support the Brazil Country Director and the project team in the planning, execution, data analysis, and monitoring of activities related to the development of REDD+ projects

·         Contribute to the preparation of reports and documentation related to REDD+ projects, such as timelines, budgets, presentations, and reports

·         Collaborate in the coordination and communication between the different country teams, the global office, and other stakeholders involved in the projects, ensuring effective and fluid communication

·         Take an active role in the organization and participation of field work.

·         Actively participate in team meetings, offering ideas and insights to drive project success

·         Learn and apply project management best practices and methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of existing processes and practices, and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture

·         Perform regular monitoring of project progress, identifying potential deviations or problems in meeting objectives and supporting risk management and implementation of mitigation strategies

·         Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing them with project updates and ensuring their satisfaction

·         Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to address changing needs and priorities

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

·         Completion of an advanced technical course or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in economics, Administration, or a related field

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is mandatory

·         Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, Waterfall, Six Sigma, Lean) is advantageous

·         Familiarity with project management software tools like Wrike, Asana, Trello, Planner, or Jira is advantageous

·         Working knowledge of English is necessary. Proficiency in Spanish is not required but would be beneficial for applicants

·         Willingness to acquire and exchange knowledge with colleagues and teams across diverse countries

Other Requirements:

·         Willingness to occasionally travel to various locations within the country, including remote areas with basic facilities

·         Open to working in the city of Sao Paulo

·         Must possess legal authorization to work in Brazil
