R&D Controls Engineer

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our Research & Development Department in our Electrification, Automation and Digitalization business unit. What you'll bring

MSc or PhD in control system engineering or embedded systems. 3 years’ experience with R&D in electrical drives. 2 years’ general experience with subsea control systems. Experience with industrial network design & setup (Profinet/OPCUA/Modbus).

Beneficial knowledge

Design and troubleshooting of complex hardware using schematics and test equipment. International standards for subsea controls system design and testing. Sinamics Perfect Harmony drive, oil filled electronics, sensors and instrumentation, electrical actuators. PCS7/TIA, RTOS and control/monitoring GUI’s (LabView/Python etc).

How you will make an impact
 As Controls engineer in R&D Control Systems you will have a key responsibility for the control electronics in our Subsea variable speed drive. This includes programming, testing, troubleshooting, design of equipment / systems, writing technical specifications and writing test procedures.

We are looking for a hands-on person, with a proactive attitude to take responsibility in the R&D projects. The position is interacting with international teams with different cultures. We expect you to be an excellent communicator and collaborator with a proactive attitude. The working language is English. This role offers growth opportunities within the organization, with many learning prospects as well as opportunities to contribute and develop our portfolio of technical products and solutions.

The position will include a significant time spent in Trondheim, Norway, where you will receive specific training and perform hands-on work.
