Dow has an opportunity as a Financial & Statutory Subject Matter Expert for LAA Region – Accounting Specialist located in São Paulo (BRA).
About you and this role - What you would do in this role:
The F&S SME supports the operations and end users providing system technical support for the Financial Accounting, Reporting, Compliance, and Internal Controls used within Dow. This is a key position serving as SME for SAP ECC, Synchro, DSR and other related systems as well as serving as project coordinator for improvements projects and future system implementation to ensure compliance and enhance efficiency of F&S processes.
Responsibilities:
Serve as focal point for LAA Financial Statutory driving audit-related processes & procedures designed to ensure compliance within the teams.
Key User for SAP as an ad hoc member expertise testing and implementing ERP changes and system integration. Training focal point for on boarding, procedures, documentation, etc.
Provide technical support and consultation for issues, inquiries, changes, enhancements relating to financial accounting and financial reporting.
Coordinate accounting closing process for Latin America.
Focal point for Statutory Year-end Carry Forward process.
Lead and participate regionally for systems enhancement projects, support M&A and corporate initiatives and other responsibilities as may arise.
Ensure effective internal control over financial reporting in all areas of responsibility.
MOC execution when a change happens within the process validating and rolling out to all Latin America Companies providing specific local data to Business Process Experts and Data Readiness team.
Optimize accounting process developing macros, reports and automation along the Financial Statutory team and Process Leaders.
Delivery Accounting Electronic filling to the authorities for all Brazilian entities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline
Fluent English is mandatory. Advanced Spanish is desirable.
5 years or more in Automation experience
Working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems.
Knowledge about automation systems or apps. Background with leading improvement projects will be considered a plus
Knowledge on SAP ECC, DSR and other Dow system
Solid comprehension of internal controlsIT background is desirable.
Knowledge on SAP ECC, Synchro, One Source (Thomson Reuters) and AI.
Knowledge about automation systems or apps. Background with leading improvement projects.
Effective time management and balancing of multiple competing priorities.
Very strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with great interpersonal and partnering skills.
Ability to comprehend and explain complex systems processes, logic, calculations, and validations.
Travel might be required for project work and other purposes.
