What You'll Do:
As a Government Affairs Director, you will develop and lead Lubrizol’s strategy to successfully engage with relevant government authorities and officials at all levels – central, state, and local - to protect, grow and transform Lubrizol’s business as well as meet objectives in the region. Serve as a key external representative of and advocate for policy priorities and objectives with key government policy stakeholders.
What We're Looking For:
- Actively support and lead Lubrizol corporate and business government affairs objectives with the LATAM government.
- Build and manage engagements with policy makers, decision makers, trade associations and consultants to ensure implementation of Lubrizol’s legislative, regulatory and political priorities.
- Engage senior management to develop and drive Lubrizol’s objectives and initiatives involving government affairs and policy, including identification of issues that may benefit from legislative or regulatory action.
- Serve as a positive, credible, and influential presence for Lubrizol with key trade associations, as well as national public policy and legislative groups and other relevant stakeholder organizations.
- Support the formation and maintaining of issue coalitions and drive policy change.
- Identify and lead engagements that leverages and expands Lubrizol’s expertise, knowledge and potential to protect, grow and transform Lubrizol’s participation in strategically significant markets (including transportation and industrial lubricants and additives, durable polymer technology, medical device, pharma, personal and home care).
- Build knowledge and understanding of policy parameters and political factors influencing Lubrizol’s government relations objectives and ensure ongoing awareness and support for legislative activities with Lubrizol business leaders.
- Monitor, track, and evaluate proposed relevant rule-making and legislation, provide analysis of proposed legislative/regulatory actions, determine the potential impact on Lubrizol and its businesses and propose appropriate response.
