Shell has been present in Brazil since 1913. Our main objective is to respond to the world's energy needs today and contribute to the acceleration of the energy transition, acting responsibly in the economic, environmental and social spheres.
Headquartered in downtown Rio de Janeiro, we have about 700 employees in Brazil working in Exploration and Production, Natural Gas, Trading, Research & Development and Renewable Energy Development.
One of the world's largest companies in the area of Exploration and Production, Shell has one of its biggest technological challenges in the Upstream segment. Shell Brasil was the first private company to produce oil on a commercial scale in the country, in the Campos Basin, after the market opened.
The Downstream segment includes Raizen, a joint venture for sugar and ethanol production, electric power generation, supply and distribution of fuels for retail and commercial, which recently also acquired Shell Brasil's lubricants business.
Power Your Progress
An Assessed Internship is an excellent way to get to know Shell from the inside and immerse yourself in the energy industry. It can also help you decide what career is right for you. You’ll have full day-to-day involvement in actual projects, selected to match your interests and abilities. You’ll join a project team and work alongside Shell employees who are all professionals in their fields. Their perspectives will contribute to your understanding of our business, its demands and rewards.
A supervisor and mentor will support you directly and you’ll undertake regular assessments throughout your internship to ensure you get the most from the experience. As part of the Assessed Internship, you’ll have a formal mid-term review with your supervisor and mentor. At the close of your internship, you will be asked to prepare a presentation about your project and there will be discussion on project delivery and performance by your supervisor and mentor.
Up to 2 years in the chosen business area.

Developing valuable networks and contracts for future career opportunities.
What we need from you?
You should enjoy being challenged, so that rather than being daunted or overwhelmed if a task seems impossible, you welcome the opportunity to be innovative. You also need to be good at absorbing information, analysing problems, making objective decisions, and coming up with original ideas. You should have the drive, and resilience to get things done, the flexibility to work well as part of a team and the credibility to influence others.
Requirements:
To be eligible for the Shell Assessed Internship:
You should be an actively enrolled student who will complete you graduation in at least 1,5 years from the Internship beginning.
This posting covers all roles across the Commercial, Corporate, and Technical programmes. Shell matches you into a particular programme based on your skills and preference. If you are a student from one of the following courses, we look forward to meet you: International Affairs; Business Administration; Economics; Geophysics; Geology; Production Engineering; Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering; Petroleum Engineering; Electrical Engineering; or any related field.
The posting covers roles starting on 2024 and 2025.
