Job Description:
Quality Connect Staffing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Buyer for our client, a leading FOOD MANUFACTURER in South Africa. As the Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality PEANUTS products from farmers and producers for our client's retail and manufacturing operations. This is a full-time position based in Brazil. (Client is also open to applicants based in South Africa and Argentina)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best quality and pricing for PEANUTS products
- Identify new suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms
- Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with the sales team to forecast demand and plan inventory levels
- Review and analyze sales data to make informed purchasing decisions
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders and shipments
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulations related to PEANUTS products
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the food industry
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits and industry events
- Knowledge of PEANUTS products and the South African market is a plus
