We are looking for a developer of the Open Source test automation frameworkwhich is used to test Linux distros such as, Fedora and Debian and many more. We are looking for enthusiasts who enjoy learning new things, motivated by opportunities to improve things and enjoy working as part of a DevOps team.

What you can offer

You want to improve automated testing of the whole operating system You know your way around a modern Linux distribution You like to work with and contribute to Open Source projects You know object-oriented programming languages like Python or Javascript You enjoy coming up with new ideas and trying new approaches You can communicate in written and spoken English You are able to occasionally travel internationally

Really good to have skills

Experience in Linux system administration or system programming Involvement in Open Source projects Familiarity with agle methodologies

Technologies you will work with

The Linux Kernel KVM, QEMU, podman Git, Bash, Python, Perl Grafana, PostgresQL, InfluxDB, salt Packaging, OpenBuildService Continuous Integration workflows on GitLab and GitHub

What working in the team looks like

The DevOps team maintains production instances of openQA, most of which is deployed using salt, GitLab CI or GitHubActions. That includes monitoring via Grafana and working closely with test developers and reviewers. openQA is mainly written in Perl and Javascript. We also use Python and bash depending on what's most suitable for the task.

We build packages in, as well as containers used in CI and to run openQA itself.

Chat and video calls help us clarify open questions and help each other.

As our responsibilities are varied, some team members focus more on development while others work on infra or tooling related to released products and update validation.
