Responsibilities

Identify property hazards (fire, explosion, and natural catastrophe hazards) at client facilities and deliver practical solutions to minimize or eliminate the risk.  Communicate key risks and priorities to support clients in making sound risk management decisions based on what matters most to their business.  Apply consistent risk assessment and risk mitigation guidance, based on use of FM Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets and company operating procedures, with an attention to technical detail. Prepare technical engineering reports, with sound engineering-based judgements, decisions, and technical writing to document conclusions. Collaborate with various departments such as Operations Engineering, Client Services, Account Management and Underwriting on risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies.  Develop long-lasting relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor and consultant within your field.  Work from a home office, while managing time, meeting report delivery timelines, and working independently with minimal supervision. This is a field-based role and will require travel to large, complex industrial client sites to evaluate the operations and systems of the site and identify risks and hazards. Expected overnight travel is from 50 to 100 nights per year. Comunicar os principais riscos e prioridades para apoiar os clientes na tomada de decisões sólidas de gestão de riscos com base no que é mais importante para seus negócios. Aplicar avaliações consistentes de riscos e orientações de mitigação de riscos, com base no uso das Fichas Técnicas de Prevenção de Perdas de Propriedade da FM e nos procedimentos operacionais da empresa, com atenção aos detalhes técnicos. Preparar relatórios técnicos de engenharia, com julgamentos, decisões e textos técnicos sólidos baseados em engenharia para documentar as conclusões. Colaborar com vários departamentos, como Engenharia de Operações, Atendimento ao Cliente, Gerenciamento de Contas e Subscrição na avaliação de riscos e estratégias de mitigação de riscos. Desenvolver relacionamentos duradouros com clientes e atuar como um conselheiro e consultor confiável em sua área. Trabalhar em casa, gerenciando o tempo, cumprindo os prazos de entrega de relatórios e trabalhando de forma independente com supervisão mínima. Esta é uma vaga que exigirá viagens a grandes e complexos locais de clientes industriais para avaliar as operações e sistemas do local e identificar riscos e perigos. Espera-se que a carga de viagens seja de 50 a 100 noites fora por ano.

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Chemical or Civil Engineering Minimum of 3 years’ experience (Chemical or mining industry preferred) Experience with process hazard analysis (PHA), Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC), Layers of Protection (LOPA), HAZOP, manual and automatic process safety interlocks, and automatic fire protection systems is a plus. Hands-on understanding of various production processes and support systems, with basic understanding of topics relating to design, operation, maintenance, process safety, and protection for complex process equipment.  An eagerness to learn across a broad range of industries and types of hazards. Good analytical, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.  Independent and focused within a home office environment, with strong planning and time management skills with minimal supervision.  Results driven and self-motivated are a must.  Solid technical aptitude including diverse knowledge of engineering principles. English skills (fluent spoken and written). Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Sao Paulo. A valid B1/B2 USA visa is desired. Graduação em engenharia mecânica ou elétrica ou química ou civil. Mínimo de 3 anos de experiência (preferencialmente na indústria química ou de mineração). Experiência com análise de riscos de processo (PHA), gerenciamento de segurança de processo (PSM), gerenciamento de mudanças (MOC), camadas de proteção (LOPA), HAZOP, intertravamentos de segurança de processo manuais e automáticos e sistemas automáticos de proteção contra incêndio é uma vantagem. Compreensão prática de vários processos de produção químicos e mecânicos e sistemas de suporte, com compreensão básica de tópicos relacionados a projeto, operação, manutenção, segurança de processo e proteção para equipamentos de processos complexos. Desejo de aprender sobre uma ampla gama de indústrias e tipos de riscos. Boas habilidades analíticas, organizacionais, de resolução de problemas e interpessoais. Independente e focado em um ambiente remoto, com fortes habilidades de planejamento e gerenciamento de tempo com supervisão mínima. Orientação para resultados e motivação própria são essenciais. Sólida aptidão técnica incluindo conhecimento diversificado de princípios de engenharia. Conhecimentos de inglês (fluente falado e escrito). Deve residir ou estar disposto a se mudar para São Paulo. É desejável um visto válido dos EUA (B1/B2).
