We are currently seeking a highly skilled and visionary Software Engineering Manager to join our team. As a Software Engineering Manager at TechnipFMC, you will play a crucial role in leading and guiding a team of software engineers to develop high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for driving the technical direction of projects, ensuring efficient and sustainable software development practices, and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Inspire and motivate the team to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Technical Expertise: Apply your strong knowledge and expertise in Kotlin/Java, TypeScript, React, and AWS technologies to guide the team in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the team.

Architecture and Design: Collaborate with software architects to define and evolve the technical architecture of applications. Ensure adherence to coding standards, software development methodologies, and design principles. Foster a culture of software craftsmanship and maintain high-quality code standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, effective communication, and successful project outcomes.

Performance and Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks, optimize code, and improve system efficiency. Monitor and analyze application performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement appropriate solutions.

Agile Development: Promote and facilitate agile software development practices, including continuous integration, automated testing, and iterative development. Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

Process Improvement: As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve software development processes and implementing best practices. This includes evaluating current methodologies, tools, and workflows to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall quality of software deliverables.

Resource Planning and Allocation: You will collaborate with stakeholders to assess project requirements and allocate resources accordingly. This involves planning and managing the team's workload, assigning tasks, and ensuring that the necessary resources and skills are available to meet project objectives and deadlines.

Risk Management: As part of operational management, you will proactively identify and manage risks that could impact project timelines, budgets, or quality. This includes implementing risk mitigation strategies, fostering a culture of risk awareness within the team, and ensuring contingency plans are in place to address potential issues.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: You will establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the team's performance and the success of software development initiatives. Regularly monitoring these metrics will enable you to identify areas for improvement, celebrate successes, and provide transparent reporting to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Team Lead/Software Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in software engineering, with expertise in Kotlin/Java, TypeScript, React, and AWS technologies.

Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading software engineering teams.

Extensive experience in software project management, including planning, execution, and delivery.

Deep understanding of software development methodologies, design patterns, and software architecture principles.

Proficiency in agile (Scrum) development practices and tools.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Experience in performance optimization, scalability, and security considerations.

Passion for learning and staying updated with the latest technologies and industry trends.
