Associate Translation Line Manager

**Main Purpose of Job**
- You will be responsible for a translation team, working closely with the Translation Line Manager and your team of translators. You will be responsible for delivering translations of the highest quality and accuracy on time and within budget. You will be responsible for setting the linguistic standards in your team and ensuring the rapid development of your translation team members. You will work closely with the Translation Line Manager to develop and measure the individual skills of your team members. You will ensure effective productivity & utilisation of your team. You will be responsible for correct resourcing and QA for projects carried out by your team. You will play an active part in recruitment, training and the creation & implementation of Translation Department systems and processes.**Responsibilities**
- Assist Line Manager with Training and Development of team members, induction of new staff as required.
- Escalate quality issues and complaints that may arise.
- Cover for absence of Translation Line Manager or Lead translators if nominated Deputy Line Manager or Lead.
- Coordinate language resources, glossaries, reference books, etc.
- Actively contribute to improvement of systems and procedures.
- Pass on to your team members an understanding of SDL corporate culture and goals, and acting as a role model for your staff to follow.
- Quality: monitor the quality of work done by each team member. Responsible for the end quality of the work done by the team.
- Productivity & Utilisation: monitor the productivity & utilisation of the team. Ensur every member of the team is working efficiently and is busy at all times.
- Development of team members: identifying areas that need improving, and training the person to help them improve.
- Induction of new staff within your team into SDL.
- Procedures & Discipline: ensuring the team members understand and follow SDL's procedures. Take appropriate action to ensure compliance.
