Laravel Engineer with MySQL Tuning Experience (Remote, LATAM)

We are looking for a skilled individual to join our rapidly growing team at Bluelight. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where everyone's opinions and efforts are valued and appreciated. What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience with Laravel, specifically with Laravel 8 and above, demonstrating a deep understanding of the framework's architecture and capabilities.
  • Expertise in MySQL database performance optimization, with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex database bottlenecks.
  • Strong hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries, especially for applications handling large and growing datasets.
  • Proficiency with database schema design and normalization/denormalization strategies to ensure scalability and data integrity, particularly for high-volume transactions.
  • Experience with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder, coupled with a clear understanding of how these tools generate SQL and how to optimize the underlying queries for performance.
  • Experience working in complex large-scale multitenant SaaS applications.
  • Solid experience with Laravel Authentication and implementing robust security practices in backend systems.
  • Experience with testing tools, such as Pest PHP and PHPUnit, to ensure code quality and system reliability.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing robust, scalable RESTful APIs in Laravel, focusing on performance and data efficiency.
  • Experience with ReactJS is a plus.
  • Ability to take extreme ownership over your work.
  • Ability to identify with Bluelight's clients' goals and dedicate yourself to delivering on the commitments you and your team make to them.
  • A positive mindset and a can-do attitude.
  • Forensic attention to detail.
