Manager, Pro Engineering Support

Overview

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. The Global Engineering and Technology Center in Puerto Rico is looking to hire a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the engineering support of Power and Controls products manufacturing, including Electric Power Systems, Engine Controls Systems, and Environmental and Airframe Control Systems Portfolios. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong communication skills to align organizational strategy with operations priorities. This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location and you must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. This role is categorized as onsite. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, design, and quality to troubleshoot complex issues, enhance equipment uptime and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and standardize engineering processes, documentation, and best practices.
• Ensure team alignment with business goals and customer requirements.
• Lead the implementation of manufacturing initiatives and Industry technologies to enhance productivity and data visibility.
• Coach, mentor and develop the performance of a team of multifunctional team.

Qualifications YOU must have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Experience in managing programs or parts of a program including successfully managing small groups of engineers under technical guidance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience in a Manufacturing environment:
  • Review production data and identify trends
  • Troubleshoot potential causes of production failures and devise a solution
  • Evaluate engineering processes and provide recommendations
• Experience with Electronic & Mechanical designs
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions to improve yield (e.g., fault tree, 5 Why, fishbone)
• Experience reading and understanding assembly drawings, circuit card schematics, and assembly instructions
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
• Project Engineering experience is highly valued
