**The Role**
As a Mainframe App Modernization Specialist (AS/400) at Kyndryl, you'll have the opportunity to shape the very foundation of the technology that drives our world. Your work will involve developing, testing, and maintaining the software that controls a computer's operating system, hardware, and other systems software. You'll be a master troubleshooter and problem-solver, with the skills to fix even the most complex issues that arise.
Not only will you be responsible for ensuring the security of our computer systems, but you'll also work closely with other IT professionals to design and implement cutting-edge technology that keeps Kyndryl ahead of the curve.
As a leader in this field, you'll also be expected to conduct RCA discussions for the products you work on and provide ongoing technical and operational guidance to lead professional work teams. You may even manage departments on a national or international level, defining objectives and managing resources to ensure the success of your projects.
Your expertise will be crucial in influencing people outside of your department or function, and you'll have the opportunity to directly shape the technology landscape of the world we live in. **Who You Are**
- Required Skills and Experience
- Must be proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, C, C++
- Excels in problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in operating systems (Linux, UNIX, or z/OS)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a "related field"
- Application Integration Middleware Platforms running on Mainframe and
- Midrange Systems (MVS, z/VM,z/VSE, z/OS and AS/400).
- Production Environment Monitoring/Support (System)
- Production Backup Monitoring (System)
- Production/DR Data Replication monitoring/Support (System)
- Developer Support - Maintenance/Invest Projects & Production Issues (Both)
- HART Application Production Release Deployments (Non-Application, can't be developer)
