As a Commodity Buyer you will support and execute Procurement Priorities in line with business goals and initiatives controlling the whole supply cycle (request for quote, negotiation, PO placement and order fulfilment). In this role you will use your experience and/or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short term initiatives and long term departmental improvements.
As a **Sourcing Specialist**, you will be responsible for:
- Control the deliveries and its Fulfilment with the site requirements, attending all commitment MHD, OTD, OTC.
- Provide Strategic Procurement leadership for assigned categories.
- Engage with, and influence, senior internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and execute category strategies to enable growth, increase margin, reduce costs, and rationalize the supply base.
- Collaborate with stakeholders Product Line, Manufacturing and Engineering on category strategies.
- Negotiate Supply agreements: long term and/or strategic agreements)
- Negotiate price, capacity, payment terms, supplier chargebacks, etc. with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with S&OP, Product Line, Operations, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing organizations.
- Lead and coordinate top suppliers monthly/quarterly meetings to drive increased performance, continuous improvement and global alignment.
- Responsible for driving the established optimized sourcing strategy of volume leverage and advance release linked to the BOP
- Manage Supply chain and functional risk
- Drive initiatives such as payment terms improvement, material cost out, sole source mitigation, lead time reduction and on-time delivery improvement.
- Work close with Commodity team to ensure Procurement strategy alignment during tender phase.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, in engineering, administration and related.
- Experience as a Buyer, preferably with an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
- A demonstrable technical mindset and approach with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, motivate and influence others
- Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily
- Great problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Negotiation expertise at local and international level
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (excel is mandatory)
- Knowledge of Oracle/ERP, desired
- Strong Power BI skills
- Outcome focussed and able to manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
- Experience in/or work with International Logistics
Desired Characteristics:
- Previous experience of commodity and engineered items
- Project management, technical and /or materials experience.
- A recognized professional and/or academic qualification. e.g. MCIPS or CDMP
- Experience of a manufacturing / engineering environment, Oil and Gas sector is preferred but not essential.
