Provides general legal counsel on employment and benefits related matters in Brazil and across LATAM, including advice on contentious and non-contentious HR queries. Reviews legal contracts and documents. Typically requires a minimum of six years of post-qualification experience. The role is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.Responsibilities:
The main focus is to provide high-quality, risk-aware legal advice to HR in Brazil and LATAM. The lawyer will interact daily with HR generalists and regional HR partners, working closely with control functions and legal teams. Responsibilities include:
Managing legal, reputational, and regulatory risks throughout the employment cycle, aligned with the bank's risk framework.Acting as a strategic partner to the business, balancing risk and reward responsibly.Handling queries from HR and business units, including Compliance, Risk, and Audit.Collaborating with HR legal teams and other lawyers.Providing training on employment law and HR legal documentation.Managing external counsel efficiently.Advising on data privacy issues related to HR.Supporting HR aspects of M&A, outsourcing, and transactional projects.Engaging with Brazil Bank Associations on regulatory matters as needed.Experience and Skills:
In-house employment lawyer with experience in Brazil and LATAM employment laws.Law degree with Brazilian bar exam and valid BAR license.Strong post-qualification experience.Fluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.Experience in law firms or legal departments in employment law within Brazil and LATAM, preferably in financial services.Advisory experience on HR regulatory issues.Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions and fast-paced environments.Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.Comfortable working in a global, matrixed organization.Solid understanding of principles of employment, contract, and common law.Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.#J-18808-Ljbffr
