Your Role and Responsibilities
At IBM, our Project Managers excel by leading and coordinating a project team’s overall performance, scope, cost, and deliverables. Our clients rely on timely and efficient status reports, and as Project Manager, you will drive the charge with project direction, metric definition, and performance management. Create and Maintain Client Relationship: (a) Manage client relationship and coverage plan, (b) Manage client expectations, satisfaction and loyalty, (c) Apply planning techniques to client strategy, (d) Advise IT business strategy
Meet or Exceed Financial Targets: (a) Apply financial strategies to client, (b) Apply financial management and forecasting techniques, (c) Use results of industry and competitive analysis
Create and Maintain a High Performing Account Management: (a) Perform team building in cross functional teams
Own and Oversee Client Commitments (a) Apply contract bid and negotiation management, (b) Manage account performance, (c) Manage contract transition and change, (d) Implement quality process metrics
Identify and Drive Opportunities for Business Growth: (a) Implement Consultative Selling, (b) Develop offering and solution strategy from opportunity assessment, (c) Apply emerging technologies to the client’s business model, (d) Develop competitive sales strategy, (e) Implement target opportunity action plans, (f) Apply consulting method and techniques
Client Relationship: Trusted Business Partner
Project Management: Deliver on all “commitments”
Matrix Management: Coordinate and manage Account and IBM resources
Opportunity Identification: Maintain and grow the base
Business/Financial Management: Contract revenue, profit and loss

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Proven experience managing large-scale cloud to VMware migration projects, preferably in a corporate setting.
Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, ideally including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Expertise in VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon.
Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, and controlling resources, schedules, budgets, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, procurement, and senior management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Trello.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive migration plan, including timeline, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
Lead regular status meetings with internal and external stakeholders to provide progress updates, identify issues, and resolve roadblocks.
Serve as the central point of contact for all project related communications, coordinating between cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, and senior executives.
Monitor and control project scope, schedule, and budget, adjusting as needed to meet changing objectives or unforeseen circumstances.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the migration process, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
Facilitate knowledge transfer and training sessions for relevant staff members to ensure continuity of operations post-migration.
Ensure smooth transition to the new VMware environment, resolving any post-implementation issues and monitoring system performance to optimize functionality.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to evaluate potential improvements and optimizations for our VMware infrastructure.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Certifications for project/program management:Project or program certifications including but not limited to PMP, CMMI, Scrum Master or Aigle Project Management.
- Technology Expertise:Experience working with a broad spectrum of technology solutions including Data and AI, Automation, Sustainability, Security, Cloud, Power, Storage and zSoftware or equivalent technologies.
- Consulting Experience in Cloud Solutions:Experience working in consulting or project management for solutions includingSaaS / IaaS / PaaS and/or Cloud.
- Expertise in Data and IT Technologies:Deep expertise requires an expert technical level in data and IT software technologies including several technology areas including IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Db2, COGNOS, IBM Watson Studio and related AI frameworks or equivalent enterprise solutions.
