Job Summary We are seeking a seasoned Backend System Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, implementation, maintenance, improvement, and documentation of backend systems for ML/LLM features using Python and FastAPI. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to develop robust and scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement backend systems for ML/LLM features using Python and FastAPI. Manage and optimize databases for application storage. Improve observability and reliability for distributed workloads. Maintain containerized development workflows. Raise the bar for testing to ensure high code quality and reliability. Requirements: Experience in backend engineering with over 2 years of expertise in working with asynchronous Python. Extensive knowledge of Python, including async/await, typing system, modern Pydantic, and testing frameworks. Production experience building RESTful APIs with FastAPI and ASGI servers. Solid operational and debugging skills for async systems and distributed services. Strong familiarity with Postgres and MongoDB databases. Experience with vector search systems and embedding pipelines. Experience with message queues, background processing, and patterns for batch processing, idempotency, and retries. Practical experience integrating with OpenAI or other LLM providers. Comfortable working with containerization technologies. Familiarity with AWS services. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
