Job Title Regional Accountant Reporting To Finance Manager Location Rio de Janeiro Job Summary The Regional Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of Seadrill’s profit and loss, balance sheet and identified phased financial reports. This should be performed in line with the targets set within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) related to the Accounting Shared Service Centre. The role will mainly involve ownership of at least one rig with assigned Legal Entities (LEs), preparing both the P&L results (KPI) and phased financial balance sheet reviews. The Regional Accountant will be the focal point of contact for the Rig Controller in their respective region. Job Specific Responsibilities Maintain the integrity of the general ledger including the preparation, verification, and input of journal entries. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual closing. Work with the team and rig controllers to ensure accurate and controlled financial statements. Prepare periodic reporting/statutory accounts analysis for 4 legal entities as requested. Perform monthly review of payroll accruals ensuring the related accounts are reconciled. Analyze rechargeable items, prepare and issue invoices and post related journal entries. Prepare and file SPED Contábil – ECD. Assist with internal and external audits. Keep intercompany recharges up to date, prepare and issue invoices, post journal entries and include all information in AGIS module. Register intercompany payable and related import taxes. Be a key team member driving continuous improvement. Participation in assigned projects. Skills and Experience Strong organisational and people management skills. 1+ year(s) experience in accounting specific role. Experience working with a global ERP system. Working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS. Experience in a shared services environment. Experience in a public company environment. Ability to work under pressure. Understanding of and experience with statutory reporting requirements. Ability to take initiative and work on tasks independently or as part of a team. Excellent customer relations skills. Good problem solving skills. Desired Experience in oil field services (preference within drilling sector). Experience with Oracle and Hyperion. Experience of working with diverse regional teams.
