Latam Assistant Controller, Manager

**Role and Responsibilities**:
- Drive, direct, and support Local GAAP, worldwide policies and procedures, and interpretations related to financial accounting and reporting
- Provide other technical financial accounting support prior to local financial information being submitted to Corporate and advise on significant financial transactions that are brought forward from the business
- Understand current financial accounting and reporting processes in the region that include the financial accounting implications to complex judgments and processes, while accounting for the changes in local laws to ensure they are aligned with the overall company's financial policies
- Responsible for the timely identification of and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, providing Local GAAP interpretation, and preparing technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner
- Drive and manage special projects from a technical accounting perspective and collaborate with cross-functional teams in support of the successful completion of business transactions
- This role is expected to have regular interaction, alongside the Director, and Regional Controller, with the following groups:
- The Controllership Leadership Team, Commercial Business Unit Finance Leaders, Global Services, Treasury and Tax
- External peers with similar roles at other global companies and professional associations
**Qualifications** Qualifications - Required**:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
- CFA, and/or CPA, or CMA, or Chartered Accountant
- A minimum of 5+ years of accounting/finance experience
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication, and business partnering skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, matrix style, complex environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Prior people management experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
- Working knowledge of Local GAAP
- Ability to execute and follow through on key tasks and ensure key documentation requirements are met
**Qualifications - Preferred**:
- MBA or other Finance/Accounting master's degree
- Strong knowledge/background in the following technical accounting areas
- Revenue Recognition
- Business Acquisitions and Divestitures
- Licensing Arrangements and R&D Accounting
- Business Restructuring
- Financial Instruments
- Currency Matters and Hedging Transactions
- PP&E Accounting and Expense versus Prepaid accounting
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, OneStream, and Blackline)
- Technical financial compliance experience
