Senior Analyst, Infrastructure

Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil. All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

Reports to the Analytical Manager for Global Scale Ratings, Latin America, and collaborates with a number of experienced industry specialists globally. The Global Infrastructure Practice was established by S&P Global Ratings to expand our ratings franchise across infrastructure and energy asset classes. The Analytical team includes members in multiple locations and focuses on a diverse range of transactions using different ratings criteria. The role is for a Senior Analyst within the Global Infrastructure Ratings group, with direct analytical responsibility for a portfolio of credits in transportation, energy, power, renewables and utilities asset classes.

Infrastructure finance is a fast-growing sector in the capital markets, serving as a key funding source and growth driver. You will engage in quantitative analysis, problem solving, and developing analytical expertise and management skills.

As a Senior Analyst, you will conduct credit and financial analyses, review and manage data/transaction documents, run credit models, analyze cash flows, and prepare analytical documentation. You will provide analytical reasoning in committees and discussions, investigate root causes, and stay informed on industry trends and evolving asset classes.

English language skills must be excellent to communicate and publish research; Spanish language skills are desirable.

• Ownership of a portfolio of credits
• Arrange review meetings for entities in line with surveillance standards
• Understand financial statements and prepare detailed forecasts
• Summarize findings and conclusions (including rating implications) for management
• Independently prepare and present analyses to credit committees
• Actively participate in committees
• Undertake research supporting S&P Global Ratings commentaries
• Communicate with market participants for rating rationale and criteria application
• Manage relationships with issuers, intermediaries and investors
• Understand and implement S&P's policies and procedures

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis within a large bank, rating agency, asset manager, or audit firm
• Understanding of power, utilities or infrastructure asset classes
• Strong analytical skills and financial statement analysis
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
• Experience in data analysis and synthesis for analytical purposes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team player
• Fluent in English; advanced Spanish is a plus
• Excel skills (formulas, vlookups, pivot tables, data handling)

• MBA or master's degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics and/or CFA
• Strong proficiency with Excel and VBA; experience with financial modeling and data
• PowerPoint and database skills
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R, VBA)
• Experience with data analysis; SQL knowledge and experience with Oracle/Sybase/Access is helpful
• Proficiency in reading legal documentation
