Join our extraordinary team today As a Sr. Buyer this role is responsible for managing strategic sourcing across South American categories such as Hydraulics, Bearings, Electric, Electronics, Glass, Seats, and Cabs. She/He establish and manages contracts that leverage enterprise-wide volume to reduce the overall supply base. A key part of the role involves identifying and developing new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing ones. They ensure compliance, drive cost savings, and negotiate optimal terms to manage risk and supplier diversity. Additionally, they develop a high-level understanding of category trends, technologies, cost drivers, and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals. Your Impact Category Management: Oversee South America categories including Hydraulics, Bearings, Electric/Electronic, Glass, Seats, and Cabs, ensuring strategic sourcing and supplier alignment. Contract & Supplier Optimization: Establish and manage contracts that leverage enterprise-wide volume, aiming to reduce the overall supply base and enhance procurement efficiency. Supplier Development & Relationship Building: Identify and onboard new potential suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with key existing suppliers. Compliance, Cost Savings & Risk Management: Monitor compliance, drive cost-saving initiatives, negotiate optimal terms, manage supplier risk, and promote diversity. Strategic Sourcing Execution: Develop deep understanding of category trends, technologies, cost drivers, and roadmaps; create and execute sourcing plans and procurement strategies. Your Experience and Qualifications Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Define and implement strategic sourcing for commodity segments or subcategories, develop new suppliers, negotiate contracts focused on lowest total cost of ownership, and implement master contracts to meet internal customer needs. Develop a strong understanding of market dynamics, monitor competitive factors, analyze emerging trends in goods, services, and suppliers, and use insights to guide sourcing strategies and supplier development. Data-Driven Negotiation & Execution Collect and prepare data for fact-based negotiations, finalize supplier evaluation criteria, review RFP responses, build TCO/supplier ranking matrices, and develop briefs for supplier meetings to ensure effective execution of sourcing strategies. Performance Tracking & Value Creation Ensure full implementation of category strategies defined by the Commodity Group Manager, deliver cost savings and value creation initiatives, track KPIs and performance metrics, and address variances while optimizing the supplier base. Collaboration & Technical Expertise Coordinate supplier communications, identify diversity and development opportunities, work closely with internal stakeholders, and leverage 6+ years of purchasing experience, negotiation skills, legal knowledge, SAP/ERP systems, strong analytics, and fluency in English and relevant regional languages. Aftermarket knowledge is a key differentiator.
