ROLE PURPOSE

Drive application development and innovative formulation in different subcategories mainly in dairy segment to support continued growth of Tate & Lyle. Work as part of a global team with responsibilities of providing solutions to customers in applications and technical services with new ingredient development within Tate & Lyle.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. To drive application development and innovative formulation for different categories, mainly for Dairy – Development of new recipes, Pilot Plant operation and Prototype’s preparation.
  2. High Knowledge (expertise) on modified starches and/or texturizes preferably applied on Dairy.
  3. To design, coordinate and run out trials at lab scale.
  4. To propose, agree and work on deep technical projects and help Tate to promote new business.
  5. To design new protocols for formula/process validation and to contribute and generate new relevant ideas for new products development and to give advice regarding technical feasibility of a project.
  6. To be committed with the Safety internal guidelines – (Food, Individual, Business, Company, Information).
  7. Focused on Different levels of Technical Support for clients – phone conversation, visits, support.
  8. To develop and/or coordinate new formulas development in compliance with Local Latam Legislations, established target costs, goals, client/consumer needs and Tate Guidelines.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSCOMPETENCIES

  3. Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, with diverse audiences ranging from highly scientific/technical to production/manufacturing to non-technical personnel and customers.

  8. High level of accountability and responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Education: Degree in Food Science/Engineering or related discipline.
  2. Knowledgeable in how food ingredients function in Dairy applications and the critical processing parameters and equipment.
  3. Knowledge of food science, food chemistry, food microbiology and general food processing.
  4. Knowledge and/or experience with food specialty ingredients – sweeteners, modified starches, fiber, as well as hydrocolloids is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
  1. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Food Application, technical Services and/or R&D in Dairy.
  2. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
SKILLS /KNOWLEDGE
  1. Technical – as previously described.
  2. Regulations and legislation – Ability to understand the feasibility of the recipes developed according to Brazilian Regulation.
  3. English (advanced to fluent - desirable).
  4. Spanish (intermediate to fluent – desirable).
