
Talent Manager

This role entails managing a group of consultants across multiple offices and practices. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to balance business needs with consultant development needs, career goals, and preferences.
The following key responsibilities are associated with this role:
Talent Management Responsibilities- Engage consultants on development needs and areas for training using performance management processes.
- Develop relationships with consultants and become a trusted advisor.
- Escalate employee relations issues or questions about Human Capital operations as necessary.
- Monitor work-life-quality issues and escalate when needed.
- Collaborate with the Human Capital Manager on managing the pyramid, training, onboarding, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Understand nuances of project work/roles being filled.
- Liaise with project team leaders to understand staffing needs.
- Collect relevant details from Partners and Practice Group TMs on projects to be staffed.
- Anticipate capacity issues and manage consultants' and Partner expectations accordingly.
- Communicate staffing outcomes to consultants in an empathetic manner.
- Track mobility issues, holidays, trainings, background checks, and other ad-hoc staffing enabling tasks.
- Ensure consultant files (bio slides, project reviews, technical skills, etc.) are kept current and readily available for project proposals.
- Track consultants' performance, skills, and development needs to guide their growth and progression within the organization.
- Understand performance management framework and competency model and how it applies to own consultants' situations.
- Coordinate with Learning and Development team on appropriate training for consultants.
- Read all performance appraisals and follow-up any issues/performance flags with project teams and managers.
- Coordinate, attend, and contribute to annual Career Review meetings for own consultant populations.
- Review weekly utilization reports and cross-reference with systems to ensure latest information is captured.
- Assist with assembling the project pipeline and consultant availability reports.
- Help prepare documents and exhibits for senior leadership meetings using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Assist with analyzing performance outcome results.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and reporting as needed.
- Demonstrate capability in using enterprise resource management tools and performance systems.
- Maintain all employee records and keep resource planning systems up to date.
- Participate in project work within and adjacent to the broader Human Capital function on topics such as employee experience, retention, flexible working, utilization, performance, etc.
- Organize own work and display ability to guide colleagues in building project deliverables.
- Work on cross-Practice Group, Market, Regional teams to deliver special/ad-hoc assignments in a collaborative manner.
- Embody organizational values in day-to-day activities.
- Show a strong willingness to learn more about the organization outside of the Talent Management function by seeking opportunities for broader involvement.
