**Primary purpose of the position**:
The market intelligence analyst is responsible for gathering, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting various market and financial data generating insights regarding market conditions, market opportunities, and suppliers and competitors’ positioning in the aluminum industry in order to support Procurement (the broader business) during their decision-making process regarding: category strategy, supplier negotiations, product development and investment plans. The successful market intelligence analyst will be able to analyze autonomously qualitative data, trends, strategies, and competition aiming at increasing competitiveness of our sourcing solutions.
**Essential Responsible Areas**:
- Gather, manage, and analyse industry data including forecasts, trade volumes, supplier financial results, and public announcements.
- Glean information from public filings, financial reports, news sources to craft into a meaningful story about the industry and future trends
- Combine business insight and statistical expertise to provide reports of industry findings and strategic recommendations
Perform valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis
- Utilize online market research and catalog findings to databases
- Remain fully informed on market/industry trends, other parties researches and implement best practices
- Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data (Surveys, Questionnaires, Opinion Polls)
- Formulate a plan and present findings to all levels of management
- Attend relevant industry conferences and events
**Professional & **Education Qualification**
- Experience in market intelligence or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Marketing, Statistics, Math, or related field required
- Possess search engines, web analytics, and business research tools acumen
- Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar) and databases
- Advanced Excel and Power Point.
- Consulting experience is a plus
