Amazon Brazil is looking for a dynamic vendor manager to play an important role within the International Imports team by adding selection, analyzing business data, driving vendor onboarding, negotiating terms, and handling promotions.

You will work with Brazilian and global vendors to improve terms through analysis, projections, and direct negotiations with decision makers. Additionally, you will increase product category sales by driving store marketing promotions, negotiating with partners to improve selection, and reacting to industry-related economic trends.

Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to analyze and communicate complex terms and margin structures, and work well across teams including Retail, Finance, and Inventory Management. Organized, flexible, creative, analytical candidates who can drive negotiations to completion will be highly valued. Strong ownership, passion for innovation, and hustle are essential for success.

Key job responsibilities

Retail Managers focus on and act at the intersection of customers, vendors, and functional teams:

  • Customers: They rely on specialized teams for customer and category insights, working with and influencing other teams to address category-specific customer needs. They should have knowledge about customer preferences, emerging product trends, market evolution, and new business opportunities.
  • Vendors: Retail Managers are the owners of vendor relationships, focusing on top vendors that drive most sales. They are responsible for auditing performance, improving terms and cost structures through negotiation, and developing long-term partnerships to grow sales and product selection.
  • Central and Functional Teams: Acting as business owners, they represent customer and business needs in interactions with central teams, projects, and initiatives. They drive system improvements to enhance customer experience and implement initiatives to improve CX or reduce costs, prioritizing based on impact and potential tradeoffs.

Vendor Managers manage inputs by driving selection, securing competitive prices, and increasing convenience and speed to accelerate Amazon's flywheel.

  • Team management experience
  • Account, project, or program management or buying experience
  • Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing, promotions, or inventory management
  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Experience driving cross-team collaboration
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management
  • Managing large data sets to drive performance and process improvements
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotion, inventory management, and product development
