Senior Modelling Specialist at Aurora Energy Research Aurora’s modelling team creates and maintains the energy models that underpin our subscription analytics, advisory, and software offerings. Based in São Paulo and focused on the Americas power markets, the Senior Modelling Specialist will thrive in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating environment that values collaboration, learning, and mutual support. The role involves leading model development projects, mentoring junior colleagues, and shaping the direction of the modelling team. Department: Modelling Location: São Paulo, Brazil Key Responsibilities Lead the development of features that capture complex market dynamics within Aurora’s models. Collaborate closely with Research and Advisory teams to derive insights from model results. Contribute to the continuous improvement of how the modelling team operates. Manage a team of junior colleagues and support their professional development. Required Attributes Relevant degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics. Minimum 3 years of experience developing models or software in a commercial environment. Management experience. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Fluent English (C1 level or above – please send your CV in English). Desirable Attributes Relevant PhD. Experience in mathematical optimization (Linear Programming, Dynamic Programming, MIP, etc.) in a commercial environment. Experience developing power market models. Good Python programming skills.
