We are humble teachers, technically mentoring a team of talented engineers while also executing on delivering uniquely ambitious projects As a Software Engineer on the Engineering team in Brazil, you will be a member of Uber's development center in LATAM, developing products across Uber and around the world.

Consumer Merchandising team - Uber started by transporting people from place to place. It now transports nearly anything a customer could want or need, on-demand. Grocery & Retail is one of the largest growth bets for Uber, bringing on-demand grocery delivery to customers of Uber Eats worldwide.

You would be joining an exciting engineering team on Uber Grocery, focused on building the best-in-class customer experience. Our team is responsible for creating the end-to-end Grocery shopping experience that enables customers to discover and shop for merchants and items they love.

Grocery and Retail team - is responsible for evolving our platform to support transportation of more than just people & restaurant food, ensuring a top-tier experience for customers, earners, and brands.

Contributes to building and maintaining backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber, with guidance from team members.

What You Will Do

  • Write high-quality, reliable, readable, efficient, and testable code, conduct thorough code reviews, and create comprehensive tests and documentation following software engineering principles.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and follow best practices to troubleshoot production incidents with some guidance.
  • Monitor product quality in production, identify, triage, and fix bugs and inefficiencies.

Basic qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, programming, and associated languages and frameworks (e.g., C, C++, Java, Python, Golang).
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Recent bachelor graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, completed between September 2024 and December 2025.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Software engineering experience through work, education, coursework, training, research, or similar in any area.
  • Ability to understand requirements and translate them into system design.
