Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional with exceptional skills in business development to fill this position. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of success in identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Building Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including CEOs, M&A advisors, corporate development professionals, private equity and venture capital experts.
  • M&A Pipeline Management: Create and manage a pipeline of meaningful relationships through Salesforce CRM and market maps to build strong ties in assigned software industry verticals.
  • Meeting Targets: Exceed monthly M&A targets, such as establishing significant contacts and other measurable M&A sourcing KPIs.
  • Qualifying Opportunities: Work autonomously and collaboratively with M&A leadership to qualify M&A opportunities efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We seek candidates with at least 3+ years of experience in business development or a client-facing M&A/finance role within business development, sales, and/or account management. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of success in building strong relationships, managing M&A pipelines, and meeting targets. Advanced verbal and written communication skills, along with executive presence, are also essential for this role.

  • Advanced Communication Skills: Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak confidently with senior executives, M&A advisors, and other industry professionals.
  • Business Development Experience: Demonstrate a clear interest in developing long-term pipelines of meaningful relationships as a career trajectory within software investing.
  • Proven Track Record: Show a history of high-performance in business development, winning in an autonomous role, or prior success in other areas outside professional BD experience.
